An Amazing Street Photographer
Jan. 6th, 2011 11:09 amVivian Maier, a nanny from Chicago, liked taking photos on her day off. She did this for decades, generally using a Rolleiflex medium format TLR (twin-lens reflex). There are about 100,000 negatives of her work, documenting mostly Chicago across a number of decades. More about her on Wikipedia. Like many street photographers, she photographed all apects of the city: wealthy to poor to homeless. She died in 2009, apparently due to long-term consequences of a fall.
