My Fave Volcano Pic

deirdreThis may be my favorite of the Kilauea pictures for the following reasons:
1) moon hid partly by the steam
2) fresh lava skittering across the water
3) you can see the cracks in the fresh flow
4) directly above (and behind) the fresh flow, you can see green (trees in this case)
5) fire backlighting some of the clouds
For 3 & 4, you'd probably need to look at original size -- sadly, it's a fairly noisy picture because of the ISO -- it was significantly darker than the picture makes it appear.
