Vitamin D again
Sep. 25th, 2009 12:46 amI'm below the low end of normal, but just.
Got some work to do.
Found this interesting NE Journal of Medicine article, which is really technical but interesting, but I don't have enough awake brain cells to do more than scan bits of it.
One thing made me wonder, though: like some of the cancers mentioned in the study, MS is correlated with latitude as well (the further away from the equator, the higher the risk). Is Vitamin D associated with risk of MS? A quick Google search finds this. Very interesting. (My brain is working better than I thought. Nice brain.)
Also: Vitamin D deficiency, one symptom is body pain. Obesity (and celiac disease) interfere with absorption. Because of the pain, one is less likely to get out and walk, and thus one doesn't get the sunlight supplementation, either. Lather, rinse, repeat.
It'll be interesting to see if my pain levels change when I get my Vitamin D into the middle of the range....
