London, day 2
Oct. 12th, 2008 01:26 amAfter we visited the British Museum and Science Museum, we met back up with my mom so the three of us could go to the vicinity around the London Eye.
We exited the tube at Westminster station, which offered some great picture-taking opportunities.

After we'd crossed over the Westminster Bridge, I took my favorite picture of the entire trip:

The statue is a Salvador Dali, quite the contrast with the ultra-precise London Eye. I was fascinated with the structure of the London eye, in particular the way the capsules hang: they don't operate like the typical Ferris wheel.
Unfortunately, London Eye pictures tend to have glare and reflection problems, but I really like the contrast between these two pictures. The first is taken from the London Eye, the second from the ground.

The next day, Rick did most of the trundling work to get our luggage back onto the tube, and we took the tube to Heathrow's terminal 5. We managed to arrive home with our luggage, which means we'd had two successful stops in the new terminal, despite some of the issues in the opening.
