The following morning, we packed, went downstairs for breakfast, and then went off to see the town of Canterbury. I made an obligatory stop for postage, as I'd brought packages that needed to be mailed in the UK. The town of Canterbury is so small that we were easily able to walk around and see the fabulous cathedral.

Arriving at the inn later than we should have, we clambored up the stairs to get our luggage back down. Technically, checkout time was at 11, and we managed to be out by 11:30, which no one seemed to mind. The innkeeper called a cab for us, and we managed to catch the noon train to Dover. At that end, we hailed a cab for the port, and when we arrived at the port, the very nice porters took our heavier luggage pieces for us right away. As usual, NCL's check-in was smooth, and we were aboard pretty quickly.

Because we had to go several hundred miles between Dover and Copenhagen, we spent our next day at sea, which was definitely a welcome recovery-from-jetlag day. During the spa tour, I discovered that they had been expecting an acupuncturist to arrive, but didn't currently have one, which meant the pain relief method I'd been relying upon wouldn't necessarily happen. (Note: even several days later, still no acupuncturist.) So, being the sport that I am, I booked a seaweed wrap instead, which was interesting. I definitely felt better, but I don't think it really did anything for my pain levels.

We booked an upgraded meal at Teppanyaki, the onboard Japanese steakhouse, which was entertaining but kind of meh foodwise.
