EngagiFire, an Optin Builder

Engagifire from Smartfunnls on Vimeo.

EngagiFire is a really great (and great looking) online opt-in builder. There are different feature sets, but you can build opt-ins specific for Amazon, for example.

Want to have an Amazon pop-up for a specific book on that book’s page?

You can do that.

It’s also great for email list building.

I’ve just switched over here on deirdre.net, but you can also see the t-shirt one I have on desamo.clothing.

Also, this is a one-time fee. They’ll be moving to a monthly payment structure, but have a one-time payment offer starting at $27. There is an upsell for improved targeting.

Some of you may be familiar with OptinMonster, so I’ll compare them.

OptinMonster Pros:

  • Works entirely within a WordPress plugin.
  • Industry standard.
  • Well trusted.
  • Can put on a WordPress sidebar, too (not just a lightbox).
  • More styles of opt-in at higher prices.

OptinMonster Cons:

  • Only works within a WordPress plugin.
  • I found it impossible to hide “checked” interest areas on Mailchimp, which is why I’m changing. To explain what I mean by this, if you sign up for the mailing list on http://deirdre.net/chair-in-the-sky.com, it’s the same mailing list I use on this site, it just has the “travel” interest checked. Don’t see the checkbox? Exactly.
  • Expensive.

EngagiFire Pros

  • Works on non-WordPress sites. Like any HTML site.
  • Very lightweight WordPress plugin available.
  • Great variety of designs, but you don’t have to use those.
  • Amazon design great for authors. (You could extend it to add other bookstores, too. I may make a video for this if people are interested.)
  • Teespring design great for Teespring folks (though I’m using one of those for Redbubble because I’m just like that).
  • Great launch price.

EngagiFire Cons

  • Fewer opt-in styles.
  • No specific mobile targeting. This can be a problem, because one of the opt-in options is exit intent, which isn’t really applicable on mobile.
  • It hasn’t been around as long.

Videopages, a Landing Page Builder

It’s super hard to impress me with web page builders because, frankly, most of them suck. I think Joshua Zamora and Aravindh Sridhar have built something impressive with Videopages.

(I’ll be updating this post with the final video once it’s posted.)

The good:

  • It’s a great landing page builder, whether you have video on your page or not.
  • It’s stupidly inexpensive because this is the initial launch. How inexpensive? From $24 one-time fee. (This kind of launch is used to fund

Want to Build Apps?

Facebook apps? Mobile apps?

Doesn’t matter if you don’t know a thing about programming: Zapable looks pretty awesome.

Note: I’m going to skip this particular one for a couple of reasons, but some of you may be interested.

So, those are three cool marketing tools that were recently released. Got some favorites?
