EA's Big Marketing FAIL at Comic-Con
Jul. 26th, 2009 02:18 pmNews here.
"We understand there’s a lot of debate right now around our “Sin to Win” promotion."
No, there is no debate.
It is FAIL.
In particular, any claim of sexism in the company, well, that marketing campaign is pretty much prima facie evidence that they don't have a balanced view of women (even though the booth staff were likely contractors and not directly affected by any employment claims). So I'm hoping it'll cost EA a lot over the years.
I'm not the gamer I used to be, but I'm not going to be buying any more EA games.
"We’ll continue to follow your comments and please let us know if you have any other thoughts or concerns."
Which basically translates to: we don't want to hear from you bitches about the complaints we've already heard.
"Keep watching as the event unfolds and we hope you’ll agree that it was all done in the spirit of the good natured fun of Comic-Con."
I have a better idea. Why not write or call the CEO (John Riccitiello) and tell him how you feel about the campaign?
