S. Darko Redux

deirdreI re-watched S. Darko with the director's commentary and I've got to say my first take on it is pretty much accurate the second time through. It's an interesting failure for the reasons stated previously.
What worked about this film wasn't something you could take in entirely in one viewing. However, given the points made previously, you may not wish to see it a second time.
Gorgeous film. Pity about the plot and story not quite being there.
A two-minute change would have redeemed the main character and made the film one I'd give a thumb-slightly-up rating to instead of a thumb-mostly-down. More work would be needed to make it a thumb-all-the-way-up-like-DD movie, though.
Oh well.
