The Plan: 50 miles in 40 days
May. 23rd, 2010 03:24 amI know I'm too anal about numbers. I can't help it.
Unfortunately, this is a really aggressive challenge for me. I still have a leg that goes numb at random, I got an athsma attack from the cold today, and I'm just out of shape.
It doesn't help that I found out I really have two fewer days, meaning I don't have a day at the end to catch up if I'm close.
Some of the patterns are weird: I've discovered that I need a less strenuous day after a strenuous day -- and not a day off. Also, it's easier if I have a warm-up day. I want a day off, and it's too aggressive to take two off. The longer days can be broken into multiple walks, which is less strenuous than one long one.
But I have a plan. It can be revised enroute (up to a point). It may not be a good plan, but it is a plan.
Rather than doing 2 different lengths, I'm doing three, ACBBCA, where A is the shortest and C the longest. Sunday will be catchup and rest day.
