My reaction to the event currently listed here.

I support gay marriage.

I gave money to defeat prop 8.

I support peaceful events designed to raise awareness.

But I do not support protesting a business because an individual, no matter how highly-placed, gave money to the opposition as an individual.

In particular, I don't support the protests at Cinemark because their CEO gave almost ten grand to help pass prop 8. Sure, do business with Cinemark -- or not -- as your conscience sees fit.

Ignore the fact that they've probably got more screens showing Milk than almost anyone else, and that Milk is exactly the kind of film that'd maybe help some people understand the issues better.

If you go down this road, then turnabout is fair play, and all those people who gave money to defeat prop 8 could also be subject to the exact same tactic. Many of those people work for companies run by conservatives who might fire them if protests at their workplace became an issue.

In other words, you may be harming the very people who supported you.

Great ghu, you weren't able to attract enough of us to defeat this damn bill and now you want to drive the sympathetic straights (and the closeted) away?

Get back to me when you're for real.

Srsly.
