Happy Diwali!
Oct. 27th, 2008 11:16 pmToday, I got a random text message, from someone I don't know, from India.
"May goddess Laxmi together with Saraswati and Lord Ganesha come to your house this Diwali & stay year after year. Wish you a happy and prosperous Diwali."
I expect that the person intended to send it to someone else, so I wished them happiness back and signed my name so they'd know.
However, I might as well pass the message along! Diwali sounds like an interesting holiday, what with the candles and all: "Today it is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs across the globe as the "Festival of Lights," where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every human being."
Enjoy!
