More Americans than Congress Remember, Apparently

The House Committee on Un-American Activities, that is. Of course, it went on for nearly thirty years, including the first half of my life.

Evidently, Michelle Bachmann, R-MN, needed a refresher.

On Friday, Bachmann was asked by host Chris Matthews whether she believes that Obama may have anti-American views. She replied, "Absolutely. I'm very concerned that he may have anti-American views."

This had the effect of causing 13,000 people to contribute to her opponent's campaign, matching what he's raised in the third quarter so far. I've got twelve bucks in my PayPal account and a debit card to go with it, so I'll contribute a bit as well.

I'm very irked with this painting of people who don't agree with you as something other than "real Americans" or, worse, "anti-American."
